The Handmaid

I became interested in this new Handmaid. She came to Commander Fred's household only but a month ago, yet she seemed to blend in with her role that it seems as if the last maid have never disappeared. She is transparent; it is almost as if she did not exist. Going against the rules, I recently tried to be friendly and open to her. I whistled to her as she was going to go shop the other day. Even more risky, I nudged her foot during the reading of the Ceremony. She backs away and further shells up away from me every time I try to open to her. I wonder if Offred is a true believer, but then realize she could not for she did not report my actions. I desperately want to talk to the Handmaid and develop a relationship. She seems like an interesting person, if only she would open up to me as I would to her.
